FROM THE COMMUNITY,
FOR THE COMMUNITY

what are you grateful for? summer art exhibition in partnership with Motiv8 - film by @Willhutchfilms

The biggest thing we've learnt about gratitude is that the ultimate of expression of it is giving back.

The last few years has taken its toll on us all, non more so than young hearts and minds, those without the skills to navigate life or without the networks to support them.

The Grateful Arts Club is a Community Interest Company created in response to impact the last few years has had on our mental health. Art can bring such self expression, healing and connection and we are here to give it to those who need access to it most.

It's built on our values of GRATITUDE, CONNECTION, CREATIVITY, COMMUNITY and JOY and we've created a range of art based workshops, programmes and community art exhibitions built around these themes. We work in partnership with local charities and organisations - shining a light on the good work they are doing and offering unique experiences for their communities.

Our Aim

We're committed to working with more charities and organisations in our local community and create more workshops, art programmes and events to tackle mental health, inclusion and loneliness. Giving people new skills and tools to support themselves and adding to our vibrant and creative community.

We are fuelled mainly by the love for what we do but need funding to help us do even more good. If you're reading this and would like to help - please get in touch below.

our recent projects

We created 10 weeks of  Summer Art Sessions in partnership with Motiv8 - a charity who give 'life chances to young people' Each week an artist visited our session and taught a different art medium. At the end of the sessions we held a community art exhibition. We displayed the work of young people, established and emerging artists all art answering the question - what are you grateful for?

Over 700 people attended and we raised over £2.6K for charity.

We created 6 sessions that explored the theme of love and self love and celebrated what we had learnt in a community art exhibition in partnership with Motiv8.

This time the young people had their own stall so they gained work experience and supported the event by raising funds.

Over 800 people attended and we raised over £2.5K for charity.

We worked in collaboration with The Literacy Hubs to bring their 'We Are Portsmouth' project to life. To support with their literacy skills the 'Portsea Sailors' interviewed 20 people in our community and the exhibition was a celebration of how they contribute to our city.

Over 600 people
visited the exhibition and we raised over £500 for the charity.
